Comprehensive Lineup of Premium Abrasive & Sanding Rolls

At The Avenjers Industrial Supply, we carry an extensive inventory of abrasive rolls manufactured in various grain types, backing materials, and grit sizes designed for hand sanding or machine usage:

• Emery Cloth & Shop Rolls: Ultra-flexible cloth-backed rolls designed for hand deburring, pipe cleaning, contours, and maintenance metal polishing.
• Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Rolls: Versatile, heavy-duty abrasive rolls suitable for aggressive stock removal on ferrous metals, hardwoods, and tough plastics.
• Drywall Screen & Mesh Rolls: Open-mesh abrasive rolls designed for dust-free drywall joint compound sanding and plumping pipe prep.
• Silicon Carbide & Waterproof Rolls: Premium mineral rolls built for wet or dry precision sanding, auto body finishing, and glass smoothing.

Key Benefits & Industrial Applications

Choosing commercial-grade abrasive shop rolls guarantees efficient material removal and long-lasting durability across job site applications:

• Pipe Fitting & Plumbing Preparation: Cleans and etches copper, PVC, and steel pipe ends quickly to ensure leak-free soldered or glued joints.
• Metal Fabrication & Welded Joint Finishing: Removes scale, rust, oxidation, and burrs from cylindrical parts, shafts, and flat metal stock.
• Tear-to-Length Convenience: Hand-tearable backing design allows workers to strip off the exact length needed without wasting material.
• Clog-Resistant Grain Coatings: Special open-coat and stearate treatments resist dust buildup and loading during heavy usage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between emery cloth rolls and standard sandpaper rolls?

Emery cloth rolls feature a durable, flexible woven fabric backing that resists tearing when wrapped around pipes, shafts, or contoured metal shapes. Standard paper-backed rolls are best suited for flat wood or drywall surface sanding.

What grit sizes are best for metal surface preparation?

Coarse grits (40 to 80 grit) are ideal for rapid rust removal and heavy deburring. Medium grits (100 to 180 grit) prepare pipe joints for soldering and smooth minor scratches. Fine grits (220 to 400 grit) deliver smooth polished finishes prior to painting or coating.

Are open-mesh drywall rolls reusable?

Yes. Open-mesh screen rolls resist loading by allowing sanding dust to pass through the mesh gaps. They can be rinsed with water or shaken clean to extend abrasive life.

Can these abrasive rolls be used with power sanders?

While many shop rolls are designed to be torn by hand for manual utility sanding, specific heavy-weight paper and cloth rolls can be cut and mounted onto drum sanders or inline finishing machines.

Which mineral grain should I choose for stainless steel finishing?

Silicon carbide or ceramic abrasive rolls are recommended for stainless steel and non-ferrous metals because they cut cooler and prevent surface discoloration compared to standard aluminum oxide.

How should abrasive rolls be stored to preserve their lifespan?

Store abrasive rolls in a cool, dry area away from excessive humidity or direct heat to prevent backing brittleness and grain shedding.
